Sun 21 Jul Freckled Duck Minnippi Parklands,Tingalpa
1 roosting on branch above water NW end of island this am.

Thu 18 Jul Freckled Duck, Pink-eared Duck Dowse Lagoon, Sandgate
Fine and sunny Freckled Duck (2) Pink-eared Duck (12) approx

Thu 18 Jul White-throated Nightjar John Oxley Reserve, Murrumba Downs
Overcast and showery with some sunny patches White-throated Nightjar (1) Bird roosting in Red Ash tree on right hand side of track about half way down to boardwalk. Assume it is the same bird and tree as previous reports.

Hall's Babbler Lake Houdraman, Quilpie
Windy, dusty weather. Approximately 3 hour morning visit. Sightings by Beth and John Hall, Col and Lyn Collins. 7 Hall's Babblers sighted on first arrival at far end of left hand track.

Wed 17 Jul Yellow-tufted Honeyeater Bunyaville Conservation Park
A few birds were sighted low in a creek area on the western side of the park. A group of 14 observers set out with the sighting of this bird as a key objective. There were 10 observers present at the time of the sighting. One of the birds was obviously engaged in nest building,

Powerful Owl (1) One of the Powerful Owls reported on 11th was located this morning near the western end of the Spotted Gum trail.

Tue 16 Jul Black-chinned Honeyeater, Powerful Owl Sheep Station Creek Conservation Park
A single Black-chinned Honeyeater and a Powerful Owl (also spotted today by Steve Murray) along the Spotted Gum Track... the owl was initially not seen near the track but was flushed from a creekside roost (first reported last week)

About 40 to 50 were sighted with numerous other waterbirds on the large dam at the end of this street

Little Eagle Tamrookum, intersect. Mt Lindesay Hwy/Kooralbyn Rd
Pale morph Little Eagle circling the wetland east of this intersection before heading north. Good variety of birds on the wetlands including 16 Glossy Ibis, approx. 20 Comb-crested Jacana and a single male Australasian Shoveler.

Four large flocks, totalling approx. 250 birds flew very high overhead, heading north. A surprise in the city.

Blue-billed Duck Lake Galletly, University Queensland, Lawes
Today there were three superbly-coloured males and two females, all very active on the lake along with other ducks. The three Freckled Duck reported on 30/06 were also still present, along with the local Azure Kingfisher.

Single female seen well but briefly along walking track from car-park to point at around 3:15pm. None could be relocated on further searching before dark, nor the next morning.

Three were sighted with numerous other waterbirds on the large dam at the end of this street

A large flock of about 200 finches were sighted in the tall grass and they flew into nearby small trees back and forth. They were sighted again on the 15th July.

About 16 birds in group near creek. About 15km north-west of Toogoolawah

Thu 4 Jul Golden Whistler Bowra Station (Gumholes)
An immature male or female bird showing some yellow on the breast and black striping on the head corresponding to the description in HANZAB of a second year immature male. The bird was in woodland close to Gumholes on the road from the homestead to Gumholes. Continual harrassment by White-plumed Honeyeaters made it difficult to obtain good photos.
