Nothing anyone has said in response to my statement gets away from the fact
that Murrumba Downs is not a suburb of Brisbane City. Check out the Brisbane
City Council website for a list of the suburbs of Brisbane City.

Murrumba Downs is not on the list. I would think that the Brisbane City Council
would be the authority on the suburbs of its own city.
Statisticians, researchers, marketing people and news reporters may wish to
claim Murrumba Downs is a suburb of Brisbane City but the evidence on The
Brisbane City Council website plainly goes against them.
If the statement on the Eremaea website had said something like “Murrumba Downs
is in the Brisbane Statistical Division” or “Murrumba Downs is in the Greater
Brisbane Metropolitan Area” I would have accepted that. However, the concept of
what constitutes “the Greater Brisbane Metropolitan Area” is quite flexible.
When I started working for the telecommunications section of the Post Master
General’s Department in the early 1960s that organisation included Kilcoy and
Nambour in its version of that zone. The area of that zone seems to have been
reduced considerably in more recent times.
I have no more to say on the matter.
