Published sightings for the week ending 29 Jan 2012.

Thu 26 Jan Baillon's Crake, Australian Spotted Crake, Black-tailed Native-hen, Red-kneed Dotterel Laratinga Wetlands, Mount Barker
Good numbers of Australian Spotted Crakes on the eastern-most lake and the stream connecting it with the central lake. A single Baillon's Crake on that stream as well. Plenty of Hoary-headed Grebes and a few Australasian Grebes; two Black-fronted Dotterels and a single Red-kneed Dotterel on the eastern lake along with many Black-tailed Native hens. First trip to the site and was quite impressed.

Sat 21 Jan Glossy Ibis, Common Greenshank Maize Island Lagoon Conservation Park
Glossy Ibis (4) Have been seen on several occasions over last month -photo taken last month. They were seen in both northern lagoons. Common Greenshank (2) Photo taken for ID purposes. Seen on both days in the two northern lagoons on the water's edge.

Fri 20 Jan Spotless Crake, Latham's Snipe Laratinga Wetlands, Mount Barker
Spotless Crake (1) Present along shoreline of ribbon reed pond immediately across from Burbank Way. Latham's Snipe (1) Out in open on dry mudflats of eastern-most pond, adjacent to Bald Hills Road. Bird ran at speed to cover on noticing me.

Tue 17 Jan Terek Sandpiper Murray Mouth, on the beach near the carpark
Two Terek Sandpipers were seen on Jan. 17 near the Murray Mouth parking lot.
