||Superb Fairy-wren, Black-chinned Honeyeater
Private Residence, Gawler East
Superb Fairy-wren (3) one male, one female & one recently fledged bird - still calling and being fed by female bird. After initial sighting on NYE, found again today (Wed.) in our Acacia pycnantha & then sheltering in dense cover of large Acacia paradoxa at rear of our yard. Also seen atop next door neighbours large pile of wood/prunings.
Black-chinned Honeyeater (1) heard from neighbouring Euc. camaldulensis - has been present since July 2011 (breeding pair in aug/sept) and single bird heard occasionally from adjoining properties since early November/December.
||Brown Quail, Crested Shrike-tit

Brown Quail (1) Heard calling from next to one of the wastewater Eucalypt plantations -grabbed the camera and managed to get some ok photos! First time I have recorded this species at this site.
Crested Shrike-tit (3) Adult male calling strongly from same plantation, with two immatures in tow!
||Spotted Harrier (1), Black Falcon (1)
Watched as a Black Falcon with piracy on it's mind, very nearly pushed a Spotted Harrier with prey down into the stubble it was flying above! The Falcon performed about 5 harrasment dives in the attempt to get the Harrier to drop it meal!

|Fri 30 Dec
Mutton Cove CP, Le Fevre Peninsula
We found about 20 of these flitting about in the samphire in the park. Not a great photo but best we could get.
