Forgot to mention that three taxa are not recognised as species by IOC:
1. Gibson's Albatross Diomedea [a.] gibsoni (IOC: subspecies of Antipodean
Albatross)
2. White-capped Albatross Thalassarche [c.] steadi (IOC: subspecies of Shy
Albatross)
3. Pacific Albatross Th. [b.] spec. nov. (IOC: subspecies of Buller's Albatross)

Nikolas

Subject: New Aussie Bird List
So, of interest to me is whether IOC have split all of the albatross
species as C&B seemed reluctant to do so, yet Environment Australia has.
I have never looked at an IOC list as I have not, until the last year or
so, needed a "world list".....
Yours in all things "green"

Great news! The IOC seem to be keeping the subject very interesting,
download their latest version at
http://www.worldbirdnames.org/index.html
Looking forward to David and Tony's input.
