Great Shearwater
11 miles off Swansea Heads, New South Wales
Single Great Shearwater at about 0740 this morning, 11 miles east of Swansea. The bird was a little shy of the boat and was harrassed by Fleshy-foots until it eventually decided to hover off (south). Also present were about 80 Wilson's Storm-petrels and similar numbers of Wedge-tailed / Fleshy-foot Shearwaters, 2 Black-browed (one Campbell), a Yellow-nosed Albatross and a few Pomarine Jaeger.

Australian Painted Snipe
Urana Road, Coreen (on the Urana-Corowa Road), New South Wales
4 Painted Snipe were observed in an ephemeral wetland 1km south of Coreen (southern riverina), two birds were observed flying over flooded paddock, further investigation found another two birds roosting on a small island in a roadside drain. Excellent views. Earlier that day another 8 Painted Snipe were found roosting together near a flooded dam (private land) east of Coreen.

Chestnut-breasted Whiteface
Coober Pedy, South Australia
We found a small flock of 5 Chestnut-breasted Whiteface at the base of the low ridge at the monument site,12kms south of Coober Pedy. Also there were Cinnamon Quail-Thrush, Little Button-Quail, Orange and Crimson Chat, Diamond Dove, Zebra Finch, Budgerigar and Cockatiel.
