one immediately west of the University footbridge and the other 100m further
west.

Location: Grenfields Wetlands, Magazine Road
Australasian Bittern (Botaurus poiciloptilus) (1) Flew east from the area of
new reed growth north of the hide.

Date: Thursday, May 13, 2010
Location: Greenfields Wetland, Dry Creek
Australasian Bittern (Botaurus poiciloptilus) (1) A single bird flushed from an
area of stunted reed (very little tall stands present in the western section at
the moment) in the southern part of the loop trail through the wetlands. The
bird flew off to the north-east, parallel with the South Road Extension, and
landed in some taller, senescent phragmites roughly 200m further on.
