In SA www.birdpedia.com covers this gap.Subscribers can tick boxes to get notified automatically of "Rarities" and the general sightings put in by subscribers. It also has a letter box area where any report of say Hooded Plover would be advised straight to the group looking at that species, It can also be use by students to collect all sighting for birds there project covers. In addition a student can have a message sent out to all subscribers asking for info/sights/helpers etc. Just to state a few things over and above location lists, how to get there, photo gallery for sight showing habitat, birds etc. Very worth a look if birding in South Australia.
