red rumps & long billed corellas

Back in the 1950s -60s Long-billed Corellas were restricted to the Wimmera in
Victoria
and their numbers were pretty low. Pasture improvement largely wiped out the
corms and
bulbs which were their food.
Then there was a change to wheat-growing in the area and the birds found they
could eat wheat.
Now they are an agricultural pest, and their range is hugely expanding.
Success story?
