On Red-rump Parrots. I have been quite impressed to see them in inner Melbourne. On Monday I heard calls from a tree in the centre of Drummond St (cnr Gratten St) in Carlton. It was a pair of Red Rumps. They certainly cheered and brightened the drab looking leafless Elm(?) they were in. I have also seen groups of up to 10 feeding in the avenue strips between the lanes in Royal Parade, Parkville adjacent to and north of Melbourne Uni. A friend who regularly goes that way says they are very common there. Wendy |
