I'd love to know more myself as i have seen them along the road and
amongst the grounds of the B&B before and assumed them to be owned by
the B&B and just allowed loose.
I have also seen a dozen in a roundabout on the main highway north of
Cairns and haven't had anyone able to give me a definite answer on
these either.
Cheers
Dave

Hi Phil,
I saw them in this location a few years ago:

Are they known in this area? I saw several freely walking around.
I didn't "tick" as I assumed they were not wild.
Please confirm.

One for the truly desperate on the rocky road to 700 in Oz:
Flock of 9 Helmeted Guineafowl and 10 tiny juvs today on the approach
road to Mareeba Wetlands, near the B & B before the second stream
crossing; wild and unrestrained, shame about the colour variations but
hey.......
I know visitors to FNQ are sometimes after this species.
