Chris,

I think the Pheasant and Waterfowl Society of Australia http://www.pwsa.org.au/ might be of help. There are no Canada Geese listed on their "birds for sale" pages, but the recommended price for a good pair is $800. At that price I would imagine that the owners would be very happy to get them back, if they were to stray. That price is peanuts compared to Nicobar Pigeon - a pair will set you back around $4000. The societies pages are very interesting reading, there are potentially some some interesting escapee sightings to be had.

Cheers,

Carl Clifford

Hi all
Re the Canada Geese, I contacted the chap as this species was accepted as a wild species by the authorities but I have had a computer crash since then and have lost his email address. I ask him if he could supply any addresses of people with Canada Geese on the east coast so I could check if they lost any, he was president or secretary of a group of aviculturists, but have heard nothing since.
Cheers Chris
