Thanks for writing Greg and everyone who replied. The lower belly of the dove was a beautiful, saturated, deep orange red (it looked more red than orange) . The deep green colour dominated its colouring, apart from the lower belly. It did not have a purple crown and I did not notice a purple shoulder patch . Its cere was no specific colour that lept out either. Do you think an immature rose crowned fruit dove could develop red or scareltt on its lower belly, say where the yellow should be on a juvenile, just prior to gaining its crown?
