Given bird namers propensity to 'fix' names, eg Scarlet Myzomela, making all malurid wrens 'fairy-wrens' etc, I was musing on the White-faced Heron, which is now an egret...but White=faced Egret sounds funny as egrets are all white (well, they were), so Blue Crane--> Blue Egret? :) ...and Cattle Heron? As the Cattle Egret is closer to Ardea? =============================== www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.com To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: =============================== |
