Following on from my recent trip and discussion on Gibberbirds, I was
wondering if someone with HANZAB can help me.
Pizzey says that Gibberbird has a black tail.
Morcombe says it has a "blackish white-tipped tail".
Orange Chat - Morcombe says "blackish tail narrowly tipped white"
Pizzey also says "blackish pale-tipped tail".
Is there a typo in Morcombe? Have they put the Orange Chat tail
description in Gibberbird too?
From looking at a search of images on the web i can't find any that
show a pale tip to the tail on Gibberbird. Except one image on ABID
that i suspect is actually an Orange Chat.
Another distinguishing feature (besides eye colour) seems to be white
edging on the coverts and primaries of the Orange Chat. Same feathers
(and forgive me if i have the names wrong) are much more even colour
on the Gibberbird.
Love to hear peoples thoughts.
Cheers
Dave
PS - Gibberbird also known as Gibber Chat, (Ashbyia lovensis)
Just in case anyone was confused :)
