Michelle is right about valid endpoints.Birding-Aussers may remember that last year we put out a call on behalf of Kris Tindige for used binoculars for the use of students in West Papua. He received generous donations and he, his partner Sita, and the students were very grateful. They would have no hope of buying new binoculars themselves. Although, sadly, Kris died, his work goes on. In the case of overseas gifts, it is definitely necessary to have a responsible organization or program to donate goods to, and a way of getting them there safely. This is not always as straightforward as it sounds. (Rotary has lots of experience.) Margaret Cameron 2 Cintra Street Eastern Heights, Qld Australia 4305 07 3282 9151 |
