Still no rain, pond level is down to about 1.10m and there is now a
narrow strip of mud on the edge opposite the southern platform and at
the eastern end.

At around 8am today had a very brief glimpse of Lewin's Rail in the hole
between the two reed types opposite the southern platform. A few
minutes later a bird that was probably a Lewin's was seen fluttering up
into the reeds behind and above that spot. Then TWO birds that were
probably Lewin's (rear view only) were seen fluttering from that spot to
a spot further back in the reeds. This is the first time they've been
seen together.

Several Spotless Crakes were seen well out in the open for long periods,
Little Grassbirds were seen around the edges and Black-winged Stilts
were present.
