By Thursday evening (yesterday) the level was at 1.15, and by Friday
morning 1.14. I can't see why there shouldn't be a very little bit of
mud by this evening (Friday) but it wouldn't take much rain to change
that. "A little rain" is forecast for today, but "a few showers"
tomorrow. I'll try to post a report early tomorrow for those tossing up
whether to bother coming.
Rain seems to be an obsession on the list at the moment, however, unlike
Cooktown, I can pretty well guarantee that you'll be able to get to the
pond and back whether it rains or not.
I haven't spent more than a few minutes each day looking for the birds,
but this morning I saw a Black-shouldered Kite plunge vertically from
where it was perched on the vent pole opposite the southern platform.
It flew back up with what appeared to be a mouse in its claws.
