George Swann (from Broome) taught me that the tail of a Spotted Harrier usually has a dihedral (i.e. edges of tail are upswept) (even for a juvenile / immature) while the tail is flat for Swamp Harrier. This has been true for every harrier I have seen since. _________________________________________________________________ Frank O'Connor Birding WA http://birdingwa.iinet.net.auPhone : (08) 9386 5694 Email : =============================== www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.comTo unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: =============================== |
