Why would you need to bring your own water? The bushwalkers certainly don't bring their own water. The countryside is full of fresh water.

Steve,

We were there January 2-3 this year. We stayed at the walkers' hut. You have to bring your own food and water and sleeping bag.
Have fun!
Here the highlights:
at least 12 OBPs (best time is morning and evening, but you can see them all day) at least 4 Ground Parrots (great looks at a perched one, but more easily heard at dusk)
Green Rosella
Southern Emu-Wren
Striated Fieldwren
Yellow-throated Honeyeater
Dusky Robin
Olive Whistler
Beautiful Firetail
