Hello everyone. I f there are any Brisbane birders interested in Glossy
Black-Cockatoos I had five this morning on the Thalingale track at Mt. Nebo.
At the start of the track (Jolly's Lookout end), first two, then another
three flew over affording reasonable views, but luckily I later came across
three feeding in low Casuarinas toward the end of the track (Just where it
crosses a fire service track). These were probably from the earlier group.
They allowed fairly close approach and I was able to get some decent shots.
This has been a bogey species for me so I was very pleased. Other birds of
interest seen on the track: a pair of Regent Bowerbirds; Rose-crowned
Fruit-Dove; Topknot Pigeons (at least 10); as well as your more common
rainforest species. This is an excellent spot and there are always plenty of
birds.

Cheers Steve Murray
