If it's pesticide resistant and pest resistant, shouldn't it spread more
readily?  If it's neither of those things, then what use is it?  If it
did spread then wouldn't it displace other plants, causing food problems
for fauna?

I'm glad to hear that it isn't already growing wild.  Hopefully someone
can convince me that I'm wrong about the above.
