Hi John and Ruth, and Peter,I visited Chinchilla Weir when I was up there and was very disappointed. Despite considerable rain while I was there for four weeks the weir was almost empty and very few birds. My hostess showed me it thinking it would be a good place for birds. One bonus there were some Mistletoebirds in a tree just over our heads in the carpark - my hostess' first sighting of them and really good view for her. The town park in Miles and around the Information Centre in Miles were also good spots for a quick stop, especially the Miles Weir, a couple of km s of the town is also interesting. Elizabeth |
