Hi Craig & Eric,
There is nothing new about YTBC in inner Sydney, I am not sure you could say that they are "increasing in recent years" because they have been visiting inner Sydney for many years!

For example, in the NSW Annual Bird Report for 1999 it says ...60 Kyeemagh 20 Mar-22 Nov, 20 Stanmore17 Jul, 53 Darling Point 28 Aug, 100 Centennial Park 24 Sep-5 Oct ...

or 2001 NSW Annual Bird Report ...80+ Magic Pt Maroubra 27 Jun, 30 Botany 10 Jul, 30 Centennial Park 17 Jul...

The many (fortunately) timbered creeks, small forested reserves and large national parks around and within our city certainly provide YTBC with a varied diet and interesting flight paths, as well as a great spectacle and aural experience for us birdwatchers.

Don't you just love that wailing as they fly over!

Recently I was down in the Casanova Scrub, near Menigee, South Australia and there was a fog, and out of the fog and heading toward us and then flew low over us was 66 YTBC calling and wailing as they went. What a sight & noise!
