Unfortunately, places with a colder Winter climate such as Orange suffer
from illegal woodcarting from people who won't leave that "useless hollow
log" standing or laying on the ground. With the explosion of city based 4x4
drivers they are going further afield to collect there own wood. They think
it is fun to make their owm roads by belting through virgin bush. The once
pristine untouched rough bush tracks are now being cleared. It is getting
harder to find birds in there natural untouched eviroment. Many hectares of
state forests surround Orange but again illegal weekend woodcarters are
clearing up anything burnable.
