If you Google for "wind farm bird mortality" you will find a wide variety of reports which prove they have no impact or are putting all birds in danger of extinction - depending on who wrote them. I would guess it depends on the location of the farm for a start. I assume the reality is somewhere between the two extremes!

It seems silly to me, most birds are pretty intelligent, easily smart enough to avoid a large stationary object, and those not intelligent enough (I reckon the Crested Pigeons near my house would struggle) are shy enough to just stay away from something so foreign and noisy.
