Re: birds being harbingers of rain, almost
every day I hear Kookaburras calling, Magpies chasing Magpie Larks and both
singing, but it's only today that we are getting some proper rain. Maybe it
was the Sacred Kingfisher I heard 3 days ago calling along the Gloucester river
or the Jacky Winter singing his little heart out in the valley below.
Pallid Cuckoos called along the Canning Stock Route during our recent trip out
that way, and throughout Newhaven, but never a drop of rain did
fall.
