Hi Carol, There's some great bird-watching from several Double Bay cafes, but how about BEER GARDEN lists. The Mangrove at Broome is a favourite, the Pine Creek Hotel front veranda is good for Hooded Parrots, the pub at Borroloola great for all kinds of action. Burswood's beer garden in Perth overlooks a lagoon with plenty of waterbirds, including over twenty Blue-billed ducks last time I was there. There are some amazing reports on birding-aus from time to time which can only have come from a beer garden or winery.
