I just mentioned to a friend on the weekend how Regent Honeyeaters seem to like pubs and hotels.

The freak Regent HE in Ocean Grove recently was seen near the local watering hole - The Ocean Grove Hotel.

Last year, a Regent HE showed up in Newstead in front of a hotel called the Whispering Gum.

Re: [BIRDING-AUS] Birdwatching from cafes

Hi Carol,
There's some great bird-watching from several Double Bay
cafes, but how about BEER GARDEN lists.  The Mangrove at Broome is a
favourite, the Pine Creek Hotel front veranda is good for Hooded Parrots,
the pub at Borroloola great for all kinds of action. Burswood's beer garden
in Perth overlooks a lagoon with plenty of waterbirds, including over twenty
Blue-billed ducks last time I was there.
There are some amazing reports on birding-aus from time to
time which can only have come from a beer garden or winery.

                                         Cheers
                                              Michael
