Hi George

Thanks for sending birding-aus the Olympus 700 info. I'm still trying to
decide what to buy. It's a toss up between:

C750
Kodak DX6490 (a bit slower, but some rviews say better image quality)
Panasonic FZ10 (12 x optical zoom and stabiliser, and now 4mgpx)

The Fuji S5000 and Minolta Z1 are also 10 x optical zoom cameras, but with
inferior image quality (so I'm told), although the Minolta is supposed to be
lightning fast. Both of these have 3 megapixel sensors.

I'd advise people to look around at some of the review sites - the best seem to
be Steve's Digicams and DP Review. I'm surprised that Australian retailers
haven't passed on the big price cuts the US market has seen - especially
considering the Australian Dollar's strength against USD. Anyway, there are
plenty of online sellers now - Victorians can see their ads every week in the
Green Guide (not sure about other states, sorry).
