Does anyone disagree with Jill Dening's response to Phil Griffin ? If so please tell us why because I am about to have to revisit the dog issue along our foreshore. I have only two points to add. First, this sort of approach almost always results in "compromises" which means that you have to be ready to offend unreasoning purists. Second, every now and again you will have to re-educate the community. New people (and dogs!) move in, sometimes creating new lobbies for "freedom". ANd some of your supporters - including bureaucrats and politicians - will move on.
