Denise To the best of my knowledge (I will run further checks early in the week and let you know if I am wrong), the recommended slope of a disabled access is 1:15 with a maximum of 1:12. The minimum width is 1000cm and there should be handrails or curbs to prevent wheelchairs from becoming airborne (not a recommended method of descending). Handrails are the better option as they aid non-wheelchair confined disabled. Hope this helps Terry Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
