Colin Reid mentioned using the wrist bands to combat seasickness.

Alan Stuart was using these on the Newcastle pelagic I went on.  On 
previous occasions he used these bands he wasn't sick,  However, on this 
occasion he was.  He later said that his previous trips were quite calm 
and the bashing that we experienced on the trip out to the shelf was far 
worse than anything he had been subjected to.  The pitching while we were 
out there didn't help his cause.  He indicated that next time he might try 
the pills.
