Fortunataely my wife left me (not because of the feathers though...I
think???)
I agree with you the Barn Owl's are beautiful - I remember plucking quite a
few when I came across two just-killed birds within 100 metres of each other
on the Hay Plain (NSW) in May this year - the car was full of fluffy white
floating bits for hours..hehehe
I also have an crippled male Eclectus parrot as a pet and he gives me many
beautiful feathers.

I do the same, or at least did the same until my wife decided it was enough.
I don't actually collect feathers, although that'd be a good idea. The
nicest feathers I think are those of the common Barn owl. Simply beautiful
both to look at and to touch.
As I said, my wife put a stop to it, deciding that I was becoming
unhealthily obsessed. She's not much of a birder.
