I don't think anyone has mentioned Channel 10's TV show "Totally Wild" - broadcast in Melbourne at 4pm Monday-Thursday. Often has good items for young (and old!) people and is a pretty good substitute for getting in touch with nature. A huge problem with that in our area is that the remnant wildlife is so precious that we can't afford to have kids taking the taddies (though they are welcome to the cabbage white caterpillars!). I urge every Victorian to respond to "Challenge Melbourne" - 20-30 year strategic planning exercise by the State government. Tell them we need lots of local City nature reserves designed for educational purposes etc. etc. www.doi.vic.gov.au/metroplan Michael Norris Michael Norris Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
