Last year and the previous year around our home in Seven Hills (western
Sydney) we had atleast one Koel sounding like Jill's bird, and these birds
were heard like this early in the season (Sept/Oct). This year I have not
had one like that around our home but heard one like that when once passing
through St Mary's (a bit further west from here). Do these Koels call alot
when they are in PNG etc, during our winter months?

A few days ago had 4 Channel-billed Cuckoos flying high and struggling with
the wind near our home.
