South Australians driving to Melbourne should check Lake Wendouree in Ballarat for Great Crested Grebes - and the other two grebes, not to mention the performing Musk Ducks. Some MDs will come right out of the water - awkwardly I admit - for a bit of sausage. Drive slowly right round the margin, it makes a nice change from the highway.
