This is an issue I have been interested in for a long period. There is
still very little known about bird migration in Australia. From the
reports that appear on this news group it seems we could setup a very
interesting project monitoring arrival/departure dates for various
species. The wide range of places that are represented on this newsgroup
could ensure a good data spread. 
Of course I am refering to all birds not just waders. 
It just needs an enthusiastic person to organise it. Not volounteering!!
