Both Brown Goshawks and Collared Sparrowhawks are regularly recorded throughout suburban Canberra; indeed in winter, nearly all ACT records are suburban. We live within 1k of the city centre, and have already recorded both species this year (plus a Little Eagle). Part of Black Mountain (nature reserve just down the road a bit) was signposted by the parks service last spring to warn joggers about an especially aggressive nesting BGH!
