Subject: | Raptors in the suburbs |

Yesterday my wife was disturbed by a lot of noise from the budgies in our aviary in suburban Bayswater (30km from Melbourne but definitely not the edge of the built up area). Upon investugating she saw an immature Brown Goshawk (possibly imm Collared Sparrowhawk - did not get a good enough look) perched on the roof of the aviary - no doubt looking for an easy meal (there is a chicken in the aviary as well - and free range ones in the garden that the hawk ignored! Is it unusual to see them n the suburbs? |
