....I couldn't help disbelieving the distribution maps for three of the
northern Australian Pigeons - Squatter, Flock and something else I think
they were, I think on p253??? - which had them throughout Tassie as well as
their better known distributions. A shame its not true in a way cause I
might have had a (slightly) better chance of seeing them sooner.

Yes, it is a superb book combining the best of the old Pizzey and the
Simpson & Day. I still think the S&D does a better job of painting the
birds in more typical and diagnostic attitudes than the P&K where they are
virtually all looking the same way and all in profile.
but I am glad I was able to get in early and reserve three of the
originals. Am looking forward to getting them!
