       Ok, I'm sitting
here with my ts-7500 board, it has 2 usb ports and an
ethernet port on it (and  usb-b port.)  Can I get
 two of these:
 http://www.amazon.com/Apple-MC704ZM-A-Ethernet-Adapter/dp/B00486070K

 and
end up with 3 networks, like I want?  I can write 3 c
programs all trying to talk to node 1.1.1.101/1111, all
listening on 1.1.1.201/2222, but have all 3 programs on
different ethernet cards, (eth0, eth1, eth2???) so that each
program is none the wiser about the other ethernet
 devices/cards/whatever?

No you still need on physical interface per box.
But if you run of of Ethernet interfaces, you can use USB,
if they are available in addition to the Ethernet
 interfaces

        those are pretty

small too.  I could even use my ts-7500 for that. so
 I

could set up 4 networks on the

  usb-ethernets?

To simplify you need on pyhsical Ethernet port

per box, in a pinch you could use USB to Ethernet

converters, and setup your USB devices as Ethernet
