I was thinking funky new stuff aside, just the basics :)  Bit bang this 
here, twiddle that there, ect...  Yeah I know there's been a bunch of 
work esp on the USB front and udev :)  I'm still having a hard time 
thinking of 2.4 as old, I remember it being in beta....
