I'm considering buying a TS-72xx. What's stopping me is that I want to edit and compile and debug from my existing Wintel box, ideally using a GUI like Eclipse. I do not have (and do not want) a separate Linux PC just to edit/compile code, and I don't want to do development right on the TS (with my rapid edit/compile/run cycles, I'd kill the flash in months.)

First, nobody develops into a TS box.  I code outside, cross-compile and load executable code in via an nfs mount.   This TS7400 has been writing to flash, hard, for over 2 years and it's just fine.

You will need to cross-compile your code in any event.  TS7200 is not a development environment.

One developer here works in Windows, I use Fedora 12.

As for Not Wanting Linux, maybe you should think twice about that.  Dual booting is entirely possible, and since you're going to be in Eclipse anyway, development will be easier.

Feasible? I know I can buy a TS-7800 and get Eclipse, but I like the lower price and power consumption of the TS-7200. After years in tools like Visual Studio and Eclipse, I just can't go back to command line development. What are people using?

Eclipse is just fine.
