I've experienced much the same problem with lockups on the TS-7260 - some site
lockup, some don't. I've recently uncovered a serious problem with the
Netwinder Floating Point Emulator which clearly contributes to this lockup
problem.

Symptoms are messages about NWFPE exceptions in the dmesg buffer. If you're
lucky you can invoke `nwfpe` to see them before the system locks up - dmesg
overwrites them upon reboot. I ended up writing some code based on
/etc/init.d/bootmisc.sh which logs the dmesg output to a file, I then had a
record of the messages even after a reboot. I'm still early in the
investigation, but suspect that some sites may produce specific conditions/data
that trips the NWFPE more often.

Finding and eliminating my own code which caused the NWFPE exceptions went a
long way to improving the situation. But I'm very concerned about this type of
fix for the long run.
