Hello,
I just joined the group since I am the proud owner of a TS-TPC-7390 that I
intend to use as the instrument display panel on my sailboat.
Essentially, it will be acting as an NMEA-0183 data colletor from a USB GPS, an
Airmar DST800 depth/speed/temperature sensor and an Airmar PB150 weather
station. The two Airmar units will connect to the COM1 and COM2 headers.
I am thinking of building the GUI in wxPython or perl/Tk.
I am not sure if the 4 screw posts will be sufficient to provide a good seal
along the top and bottom. I would have preferred to see a screw at the 12- and
6-o'clock positions on the bezel.
I am relatively new to developing on embedded systems so I apologize in advance
if I ask "obvious" questions. In the past, I have done a lot with OpenBSD
running from a CF card and a ramdisk (see the flashboot project) but little
outside of that. So while I plan to read the archives and lurk for the next
while, I do want to launch my boat by mid-May so there may be some things I
need help with.
Cheers,
/Jason
