Have a look at http://www.embeddedarm.com/products/board-detail.php?product=TS-
7300# and click on the software tab. There it says:

"The Linux solution for ARM is compatible with the RTAI real-time extension,
enabling
systems with strict timing requirements to be handled with our SBCs."

Or download ts-7300-manual-rev1.2.pdf. On page 12 it says:

"The TS-Kernel supports the Real-Time Application Interface (RTAI project),
making the embedded operating system capable of handling applications with
hard real-time restrictions."

Why should I rebuild busybox if all I need is a kernel capable of RTAI, as
advertised by
both the website and this document? And why would the FTP server offer RT
kernels for
TS7300 under /ts-arm-sbc/ts-7300-linux/binaries/ts-kernels/ if they don't boot
in any
of the ways described in various documents? After 6 days of groping in the dark
and
trying everything I think the frustration is understandable.
