Everything in Unix is a file, or in this case a socket, which is kind of like a
file. Once you get wifi working, you treat it like regular ethernet, and open
a socket. If you install a package called 'ser2net' you can then open a socket
which will really reflect the com port.

Read up on socket communications, and it will all come together.

By the way, I believe TS-7400 doesn't have serial ports. If that is true, you
would be better off with TS-72xx instead, which does have serial ports.

Good luck,
Joe
