Hi Charlie,

See my replies below:

When you are saying to use a cross-over CAT-5 cable to establish a
network connection between the host computer and the TS-7250 board, do
you mean I should connect a cross-over CAT-5 cable between host
computer's ethernet slot and TS-7250's ethernet slot? Also, how would
I proceed with the telnet process (in Windows or Linux, since I have
them both on my laptop)?

I will get back to you after trying the second serial port. If the
second serial port works, does it reduce to the possibility of
something damaged for the COM1 serial port?

The usb-to-serial adapter was flashing code with no problems to a
custom-built development board that uses an industry standard 8051
microcontroller. I haven't tried the emulator yet, although that could
be verified by going through a hyperterminal debugging routine on that
board.

I have already tried to communicate with the TS-7250 board through
COM1 using minicom in Linux. Same problem occurs, so I don't think
it's a terminal emulator problem.

Appreciated if I hear more back from you.
