Hi Stan --

I haven't followed this thread in detail, but here are a few things.

* Use a hub or cross-over CAT-5 cable to establish a network
connection. If you can telnet to the board then you know the 7250 is
working, and can look further into the serial port communication.

* Connect to the second serial port on the TS-7250, rather than the
first. You won't get the console messages, but you should get a
console login, assuming you are still running a getty on the port.

* Use some other equipment. Having only two components available
sometimes makes it hard to determine which is failing. If possible,
try to use your windows-laptop/USB/RS-232/null-modem setup to talk to
something else (another TS board, an old printer, a modem, etc.) This
will verify much of your terminal emulator setup & hardware, and in
ways that a loopback test cannot.

* You could also use the other equipment on the TS board (ie, hook up
a modem). This assumes you can telnet into the board, or login on the
second port.

* Use some other software. I don't use windows, so I can't offer any
ideas for other terminal emulator programs. Why not try to boot a
live linux CD, and use minicom?

There is only so far you can get before you have to try changing some
things out. If it worked at one point, and suddenly changed, then I'd
really suspect hardware.

Hope this helps.

regards, .......... Charlie
